Been listening to this all day. Intrigued...Self proclaimed L.A 'youthquaker' 20 year old Phlo's an ex stylist who loves her eyeliner, trendiness and 90's hip hop and R&B by the looks of things. Shades produced by T Wiz of Ciara and Chris Brown fame is the standout track. Not sure how I feel about the accompanying vid begging Aaliyah though. Furbies anyone?! So it turns out it's not just being silly on the internet that I've spent my time of late doing. I've also been putting my time at London College of Fashion and market stall experience of yesteryear to good use and co-designed SBTV's first ever ladies t-shirts along side James. Went for a couple of cropped numbers, and after going through every single f64 settled for one of my fave lyrics "hold tight the world," from Chipmunk. They just hit the SBTV clothing store, and why not feast your eyes on some cheeky snaps from the shoot we did courtesy of my fellow styling partner in crime for the day and SBTV editor Lily Mercer. Lots more design ideas where they came from too...

Yeah I said it, those cheeky thoughts.

So far on this hustle filled path we tread, I've found original ideas are the most sought after in this business. Alternative ways of doing stuff gets attention; SBTV using youtube to target our audience directly, showing young people what they want to see and cutting out the suits producers have to go through to get stuff on telly, has led to a behind the scenes doc on Channel 4. Jamal's klout from doing so is now recognized by huge brands, and used to sell their stuff like New Era and Google. As does unexplored avenues; my idea for a radio doc on gay rappers made it onto a national BBC station and got pick of the week in a couple of papers just because it was random.

Forcing new ideas when asked by professional brain pickers, isn't always easy though. Kinda like writers block. So pondering how to squeeze the most juicy ideas out of my brain I got to watching some cool TED talks about it which I thought I'd share with ya.

Gay rappers on the radio! 'No homo: hip hop's last taboo' my documentary on 1xtra

Very excited that my investigative documentary into the lack of homosexual rappers made it onto Radio 1xtra this Sunday! First born as an idea for my uni dissertation while interviewing countless rappers for SBTV by day and hanging out with many a gay pal by night, I'm chuffed the guys at the BBC believed in it and my SBTV family supported me in the making of, and was psyched to be on the airwaves!

Managing to snag Wiz Khalifa, Mark Ronson, Estelle, Yasmin, Plan B and Example for soundbites on the topic during the very generous time frame they gave us to put it together while I finished my final exams, it was undoubtebly a challenge to make. Perhaps naievely I wasn't entirely expecting to be met with as many refusals for comment or co-operation from the multitude of artists, labels, PR's and industry figures I approached (although many were lovely), all resulting in my learning of more than I could have imagined.

Almost too close to the project in the edit suite at times, where I felt I'd need a whole day of airtime to do the topic justice I hope it got people talking on what I do really feel is the last taboo in hip hop.

Alot of fun to make, we followed spoken word artist Dean Atta on his journey into music, even getting a track made by Artful Dodger and ended up as the Radio Times and the Guardian's pick of the day!

Beautiful tunes from the producer behind Jay Electronica, his soon to be released album is narrated by fictional character Amelia Sparks, played by Lucy Liu in this real life we find ourselves in. And he's managed to rope in Idris Elba and Neve Campbell to help him on his fiction and music blending mission. Dark but engrossing diary excerpts from Amelia can be found on their twitter, which I was super chuffed to make it onto! Engrossing, mould breaking stuff...

BBC3 documentary Music Money and Hip Hop Honeys (still a week to watch it here), caused quite the stir investigating the world of video girls, trending on Twitter for 2 whole days to mixed reports.

Props to the host, Nel Hedayat I'm her newest fan! I can't find any more info or a Twitter page for her so hit me up if you have any. Theres many a presenter claiming they want to be the next Louis Theroux, but I thought she pulled it off with integrity and aplomp putting her stamp all over this baby.

Whatever you make of the ladies who strip off and gyrate alongside our fave rappers, it's definitely worth a watch. Gender portrayal is a topic thats been on my mind alot recently, weather its because I'm the only girl in the SB.TV team or just wiseing up with age to the portrayal of my lady shaped sisters in the media. I even interviewed the same equality expert as BBC3, Julia Long and infiltrated some feminist meetings for an article I wrote for uni on the gender pay gap...a pretty sorry state of affairs let me tell you.

So having kept it under wraps for what seems like yonks, even getting a slap on the wrist for a blog post I did revealing a little too much, and one of my old pals in the pub not bloody believing me; the truth is out. I'm part of Adidas Original's We Are London campaign! Still not sure how I managed to pull it off, the first photo shoot I've ever done has seen me sitting next to some of the capitals finest talent Devlin, Maxster, Scorcher, Bashy and Loick Essien and ended up on posters all over town. Shot by camera wielding legends Tim and Barry, it was alot of fun and I got to include my all important ladies in the shoot too- pop pop! I knew I wanted to do alot this year but could never have predicted this especially considering the amount of Adidas that I've been known to rock. Sooo I'm back at uni juggling an intense third year with the exciting things that come with repping team SB, doing my show on Roundhouse Radio and trying to fit in a minor social life to ensure a sister doesn't go too nuts! I can only apologise for my absence on here, but some rather titillating shiz has been going down let me tell ya...

I've gotta put my hands up and admit that I've been cheating on my own blog with someone else. *It meant nothing swear.* Should you find yourself super-indisposed and wondering what exactly I've been up to with SB.TV for the last month you can find my past Monday Musing's here, here, and here.

So I just realised I didn't let you guys know what happened at Eddie Kadi's actual debut o2 show after I caught up with him a few days before! Many a famous face in the house; I'm talking Kano, Wretch 32, Reggie Yates and even a few Albert Square residents off the telly box. It might have been over a month ago but I just know you're dying to re-live the good times...

So right now all I was trying to do was put together my latest post about whats been cracking the last few days and I’m watching Nicki Minaj’s VMA appearance, reading about Fearne’s engagement and Lily’s pregnancy, on twitter, facebook and reading SB.TV comments- and I’m not even the worst! Even trying to write this I’m thinking about books I wanna buy and new albums I wanna listen to, so much information to compute and ways to get the most out of everything that when it comes to managing my own time my concentration is rarely on the same thing for over 10 minutes. Sometimes I feel if I'm not doing at least 2 things at once I'm wasting time and I'll often end up reading about something completely unrelated to what I set out to find out about. This guy took not multi-tasking to the extreme by only ever doing one thing at once (to the extent of shutting his eyes during phone calls and eating alone) in a quest for the ultimate self-mastery.

With the freedom to self publish and inform that the internet gives us must come the perils of unending links, contributing to an increasingly A.D.D like society (watch my old interview with Wale to see attention deficit in full effect!). Although I sometimes feel like a victim of new technology, recent reports say we’re juggling it all successfully, managing to cram 9 and half hours of media into 6 actual hours, with 1/3 of our time spent straddling (teehee) more than 1 type of media at once. Our need to know everything and be constantly stimulated (get yer mind out the gutter!) by media that has seen outlets producing alot more content and while being paid alot less is an interesting one, with new reasons to verge off the path of doing-your-original-task invented daily, self discipline becomes integral. With facebook lowering exam results by 20% better get on it!

So I've been back on UK turf for a hot little minute after some ultimate beachside ~~boozing~~ reclining with the girls, feeling refreshed and landed exactly where I wanted to be in the eye of the SB.TV storm, grab those raincoats peeps theres an exclusives downpour a coming...

*Ahem.* Starting proceedings off with a bang was Alesha Dixon, who was a bit too easy to have a giggle with about everything from her plans not to cradle snatch Tinie Tempah to who she'd like to play her drums, literally to the point I was worried I wasn't getting my in-depth grilling probe on! A very down to earth joker, the interview produced this shot, probs my favourite snap from my time at SB.TV so far...

...Before jetting to the o2 to catch up with Eddie Kadi prior to his solo comedy arena take over...

Who absolutely SMACKED it on the night! Behind the scenes footage of that coming very soon, highly rating how he got everyone involved; embarrassing front row-ers Tinchy, Kano and Chipmonk and joined on stage by Tinie and N-dubz putting his own spin on Pass Out (Passport) and no.1 (no.2)...many a belly laugh ensued. Sponsored by Adidas his Kadias shell suit wasn't bad either.

Next up was fellow rib tickler and wannabe billionaire Bruno Mars, where conversation turned surreally to organizing our next interview to take place from a pretend Ikea kitchen. A very talented, if slightly pint sized pop starlet he also co-wrote Cee-Lo's F-you and was getting his dappa swag ON...

From one roof top to another, I poked my mic in the face of an extremely smiley and ~~probably stoned~~ chilled out Mike Posner who penned the funky Cooler than Me from his college dorm, leading to a record company bidding war that saw him turning down an offer from Jay Z's Roc Nation. Hot property indeed.

So joining SB.TV this summer has been maddness, I'm learning alot very quickly and getting the opportunity to meet and crack jokes with some fine musical talent. As we continue to graft hard and expand rapily we took a bold step into the unknown with our first ever red carpet reporting at the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World premiere, ch-ch-check us out- literally took over the square!!

Margaret thatcher goes raving blazer was out in force to attract the celebs as I battled it out for question time against the other journalists in the media pen, sharpened elbows at dawn it was. Spot those crafty mic holders getting in our shots grrrr...

So occassionally I get comments on the randomness of my sporadic fashion related posts on here- while these are not 100% unwarranted, this blog is really a reflection of me, what I've been up to and what I'm feeling and if the truth be told much of my time online is spent ~~wasting time~~ researching the latest garment offerings from around the world and so share with you I will my pretties! I've had this blog for a while, and its taken me some time to really get into it, recently I've decided to just stop over thinking everything (a difficult feat for me if you know me well!) and just blog away and so without further ado I bring you my unapologetic style crushes...

First up is a leather skirt which I thought I'd never be feeling, and even more stangely is gracing Gabriella Cilmi at V festival, who no offence to her I'm not really a fan of. Remove the belt, and maybe with a different top and I think we've got fierce little bum coverer in the house!

A couple more quality findings come from high street fave River Island, sometimes one that you really have to root through. Loving this tongue-in-cheek ring for a bit of quack-ability to an outfit...

...and on a not entirely dissimilar vibe this leopard bag has the cheeky factor alright. Grrr its a bit of an animal, have to watch it dosn't eat ya purse *cue bail of hay*

Recently caught up with international hustler, musical extroadiarre and all round fab guy Redone most known for creating Lady Gaga's inimitable sound when he stopped by the big smoke...Had an amazing enthusiastic energy, so passionate and anyone who reads this knows what a fan I am of talented individuals working hard and making big moves, of which he is a prime example- he got his hustle ON, on a global scale and was one of the last producers to work with Micheal Jackson.
